Assessment of microbiological purity of air in public facilities
In European Union countries, guidelines regarding the protection of employees against the risks related to exposure to biological agents in the workplace are regulated by Directive 2000/54 / EC of 18 September 2000. According to the Directive, the obligation of the employer is, among others, providing air at an appropriate level of microbiological purity.
Guidelines for the assessment of exposure to microorganisms and endotoxins suspended in the workplace air, as well as the measurement methods are specified in PN-EN 13098.
WHY SHOULD THE MICROBIOLOGICAL QUALITY OF THE AIR BE TESTED IN PUBLIC OBJECTS?
The source of air pollution in the office premises may be employees, dust of organic origin, building equipment and air penetrating through ventilation and air conditioning systems.
In the face of threats related to the presence of harmful biological agents in the rooms, regular monitoring of the level of microbial air pollution is necessary.
Good indoor air quality is a guarantee of human health.
