WHY SHOULD TESTS WATER IN "SPRINGS" BE PERFORMED?When introducing a program to provide tap water for drinking in educational institutions or public utility buildings, assuming an increase in the amount of water consumed by children or encouraging the use of tap water springs in public utility buildings, it is necessary to ensure the appropriate sanitary condition of devices providing tap water for drinking. Keeping the devices in proper sanitary condition is necessary not only for the health of people using them, but it is also one of the conditions for the effectiveness of programs encouraging drinking of tap water. Tests should be carried out before the "spring" is put into use, after connecting it to the water system and after a longer break in use (e.g. holiday period). According to the recommendations of the National Institute of Hygiene, such tests should be carried out within a week after the installation of the device and about 7-10 days before it is made available for use after a break. |
