LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Water tests and assessment criteria are carried out in accordance with the applicable Regulation of the Minister of Health of December 7, 2017 "On the quality of water intended for human consumption".

OUR CERTIFICATES AND AUTHORIZATIONS

MIKROLAB has been approved by the State Sanitary Inspection for water testing. Test results are accepted by Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations and Building Supervision.

The tests are performed using PCA accredited methods

Mikrolab has a Research Laboratory Accreditation Certificate issued by the Polish Center for Accreditation, No. AB 1531.

WHY SHOULD I TEST WATER INTENDED FOR CONSUMPTION?

The Regulation of the Minister of Health regulates the requirements for the obligation to control water quality. This applies to all collective water supply facilities. The following are responsible for the quality of water supplied in water supply devices: water supply companies and local government authorities, entities supplying or using water from an individual intake, as part of business activity or in public utility buildings, collective residence buildings, or in entities operating in the food industry, using water intended for consumption.

Producers are obliged to internally control the quality of drinking water by performing laboratory tests in laboratories approved by the State Sanitary Inspection.

A large part of households using an individual intake (dug and deep wells) uses water that is not suitable for consumption. Often in wells, water needs to be disinfected and treated. The close presence of a septic tank, organic compounds from agricultural activities (pesticides, herbicides), heavy metals, intensive use of pharmaceuticals in breeding, favor infections and pollution of water, which not only does not meet the requirements of the standard, is not suitable for use, but can be dangerous for health.

Microbiological contamination of waters most often comes from human or animal secretions. Sewage pollution is particularly dangerous. The water is analyzed for the presence of indicator bacteria such as: coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli. If their presence is found, it may indicate that the water is contaminated with fecal matter. Their presence in water requires immediate corrective action.

Given the recent actions promoting drinking water "straight from the tap", it is particularly important that the water supplied does not contain any microbiological violations due to the health risks associated with the consumption of microbiologically contaminated water.

The consequence of drinking microbiologically contaminated water may be the risk of illness or, in extreme cases, loss of life - the most vulnerable are small children, the elderly, the sick and those with reduced immunity. For this reason, routine and control microbiological tests of water are so important. They allow you to quickly detect the potential presence of pathogenic microorganisms and minimize their negative impact on the user.

In the case of chemical contamination of drinking water, it differs from those associated with microbial contamination. Chemical contamination is primarily due to the ability of chemicals to cause harmful effects on the health of the consumer as a result of prolonged exposure.

We offer services in the field of drinking water testing. Our research includes microbiological and physicochemical analysis.
